The mug richly detailed with embossed scrolls and flowers. The handle of acanthus and intertwined snake form. The cover with a turned finial. There is a vacant central cartouche. Rubbed marks to the foot rim for Middleton & Co. of Calcutta, circa 1830. The mark reads M & Co, with a thistle and castle to imitate the Edinburgh Assay Office hallmarks. In excellent condition with very light surface wear
